Longarm quilting and snippets of my life

I finished this king sized cross stitched quilt today, and my customer was thrilled. Her mom stitched the blocks while her dad was ill. She put them into this quilt and she’s going to give it to her mom when she’s moved into her assisted living home. Her mom is having a hard time sorting through and getting rid of a lifetime of memories. This will make her mom happy, and give her room a homey feeling. It felt really good to work on this, knowing that this was a family treasure. It’s not always about winning ribbons, or being recognized for what you do. To touch someones life and bring them joy is far more rewarding.  Anyway, here a few pictures. Crossed stitch quilt block and corner block 1 sashing back 1 back 2 I used Deby Levy’s method for doing the piano key border that was shown on MQResource. Thanks Deb for such a valuable tip.
