We’re home from our week in LaPine. We had a wonderful week, camping along the Deschutes River. It was very relaxing and we did some of the tourist-y things that we usually just pass by. We went in the Lava River Cave That was pretty incredible. We also hiked to this… It must have been difficult to come up with that name. The tree was big, for a Ponderosa Pine, and it looked arthritic. We went on several beautiful hikes, and we had a great trail leader Even the leader gets thirsty We hiked on top of an Obsidian Flow, Jim had to carry Millie because the trail was made up of crushed obsidian,(lava glass) The American Indians would come here to get their year’s supply of obsidian to make their tools. Kind of like the first Costco. Back at camp, it was wonderful to sit by the river and read and rest The chipmunks and squirrels were driving Millie crazy All good things come to an end, but we have some wonderful memories.
I would like to express my gratitude to those who left comments on my last post. Thank you very much for your kindness. Back to work tomorrow.
