Longarm quilting and snippets of my life

I was able to finish this little quilt over my Christmas break. I made this with Vicki’s hand dyed fabric, (her Poppy collection), and a blue/purple batik. This is for my quilter’s book club. We read, “The Map of  True Places” by, Brunonia Barry. It was an interesting read, I’m not sure I liked it much. But, it gave me the opportunity to make this pattern that I wanted to make. It takes place in Salem, Mass. and revolves around the sea, and navigation. Perfect for a mariner’s compass. There’s not any other symbolism here, just a pretty quilt. I’ve got to make an orange piping to put with the binding, then it’s done.

I started back to work on client quilts this week. I’ve got a very full schedule, and I’m grateful.
