Longarm quilting and snippets of my life

I never feel like I have enough time. Where does it go? I have all these things I want to do and make, and I never feel like I have enough time. I’m trying to evaluate these issues to make me less stressed in 2008. It’s going to be a work in progress. Any suggestions?

I had to go back to work this past week from Christmas break. I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped, but I’m happy with what I did accomplish.

I received these in the mail today. fat-quarters.jpg I had ordered them from Connecting Threads  I’m kind of a catalog junkie. I love to get and look through catalogs. I must have been feeling blue when I ordered them, because these are certainly cheery spring colors. Now, what am I going to do with them? I think I’m finally getting a ‘stash’. I haven’t had a stash before. I usually get fabric for a certain project, make it, and go onto the next project. Now, if I could get my husband to put up some cabinets in my studio, I’d be set.

I did get a customer’s quilt done this week. jeans-quilting.jpg She didn’t want to spend a bunch on the quilting, but I couldn’t resist putting something fun in those plain borders. I’ll have to get in touch with her tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll be happy with it.

Well, I’m way behind on the shows I like to watch this week. Project Runway, Grey’s Anatomy, Apprentice, House. So, I’m headed down to the comfy couch and catching up.

  2. Love the new fabrics! They remind me of an Easter egg hunt! I like the quilt you did, but it’s too bad that she didn’t want you to do more. You could have really done some fun things with that quilt! If you figure out how to get more hours in a day, you let me know!

I’m with Lynn, I want more hours in my day, too. For some reason, this year is starting out a bit stressed, too.

Shame you couldn’t do what you wanted on that quilt. You did a lovely job, but you and I know you could have made that quilt drop-dead stunning with just a little extra $$ from the client.

    Enjoy your week!

She’s an older lady who doesn’t finish many of her quilts. I think because of cost. I gave her the borders. I was just pleased she got it done so she can enjoy it.
